Hi Lloyd,

Pallets are substantial source of potentially free energy. What you can do depends on how many pallets the plant uses, and where it is. And very wet pallets are less use than dry ones.

Give me an idea of how many, where and how wet they are and I'll suggest some profit-making energy uses.

I am currently doing an Engineering Education Scheme Wales project through Ysgol Gyfun Garth Olwg (a secondary school in South Wales). We are working with GEAES, the aircraft engine maintenance company. Our goal is to reduce the amount of waste the factory sends to landfill, and one of the problems are that the wooden pallets used, get damp, and/or damaged and are then unservicable. These are then sent away to landfill, in the standard form, taking up excessive space. I was wondering if you know what power stations would be willing to negotiate the trade of these wooden pallets as fuel.
Thanks a lot, Lloyd Taylor
