Hello:

I am a freelance writer, yoga blogger, and managing editor of an academic journal on urban planning. In my work as the journal managing editor, I was contacting publishing houses and stumbled on the Earthscan website and your book. Very interesting. In fact, your headline-grabbing conclusions threw me: I am always haranguing members of my household about plastic bags. I should perhaps save my effort for other, more-critical eco priorities.

I recently wrote a blog post on buying less "stuff." See http://yogaspy.wordpress.com/ and scroll down to the post titled "Old mats never die..."

I will try to find a copy of your book here in Vancouver, BC. (Books are easier (and much-more affordable) in the USA, where I'm from, so I might wait till my next trip back "home.")

Dear Andi,

Thanks very much for the comments. I hope the publisher releases a Kindle/e-book version soon and I will ask Earthscan about this. (My book does provide a calculation of the footprint of a book and the figure is not insignificant).

Best wishes,

Chris

Chris - congratulations on the new edition of your book, I hope it does very well. I would like a copy of this but (before reading and finding out the shocking truth about PDF emissions) my thought would be that an electronic version to read on my already-existing computer would be the way to go - is it available as an Acrobat file etc.? I can't see anything on the Amazon site ... best wishes, Andi
